What is a Prosthodontist?
A Prosthodontist is a specialist dentist who focuses on the replacement of missing or badly damaged teeth. Think of a prosthodontist as an expert in smile and function restoration. There is more to a smile than how it looks.
A Prosthodontist will look at why your problem/s occurred, eliminate any disease and then restore your smile as painlessly and naturally as possible: through a combination of crowns, implants, bridges or dentures.
Teeth play a vital role in our everyday life. Without teeth, the simplest of tasks like smiling, talking and eating can be challenging and embarrassing.
A Prosthodontist can help you save your teeth that may have deteriorated due to an accident, ill health or age.
Tooth loss can occur for many reasons; it could be a lack of proper care and maintenance, the result of an accident, damage caused by bulimia or gastric reflux, or the result of years of dental neglect, abrasion and erosion. A Prosthodontist will aim to immediately halt further damage and then put together a thorough and comprehensive treatment plan from fillings to finish – so that good looks and function can be restored.
